Perplexion

I wonder sometimes why people feel they must live a double life.  They seem SO perfect from the outside, but once you get to know them--downright scary.  I suppose everyone is like that...you just have to decide which scary features you can live with.  Oddly enough, I'm looking for a real person...someone who doesn't change much from home to public.  I know I can be guilty of this offense, but I do TRY to work on it.

Since I haven't written since Mexico...here's a quick update...

Mexico had it's really crappy moments.  But it had a few fun memories that maybe someday I will re-experience.

I took biology and business analysis at Sam Houston over the summer -- had to commute the dreaded I-45 2 hours almost everyday.  YUK!  Come to find out, I belong at LeTU. I am a nerd. I learned derivatives finally...I love them.  They're fun.  Statistics, on the other hand, I will always despise.

I went to Iowa - the farthest north I've been in the US.  It's really pretty.  I have a wonderful friend there.  I hope to go back sometime.

I'm back at LeTU. Blah.  Since I'm only here one semester, I'm not involved in anything.  I feel out of place.  Classes seem like a waste of time cuz they're all gen-eds.  I'm living in the apartments now.  The kitchen is nice.  But I learned the hard way that high heels and that walk do not go well together.  I would like to cut off my feet right now.  I need a personal foot masseuse.

Check in after another 3 months and maybe there will be another entry. :)

Mexico Day 14 (Sun 5/21)

Picture: The front of the hotel.

Spanish:

Don't need it...I have 13 required posts. :)

English:

Today...well...it's over.  That's all that matters.  I ran down to breakfast so that I could go to Cholula with the group.  But my waiter took too long to get my food.  So I decided to stay at the hotel and relax for a while.  I needed it.  However, I need noutritious food more than anything.  I have a constant headache from lack of nutrition.  I went to the Italian Coffee Company and for the 3rd time they served me something with sour milk. Not cool.  I wanted to go shopping, but no one had time to go with me.  And I can't go alone because it's too dangerous.  (I'd like to see someone mess with me after I tasted that nasty coffe....whoa...talk about feisty.)  I spent the rest of the day doing hw (as always), and now it's bedtime. :)

Mexico Day 13 (Sat 5/20)

Picture: Estoy a el museo de antropología. (I am at the museum of anthropology. )

Spanish:

Fui a dormir.

Mexico Day 12 (Fri 5/19)

Foto/Picture:  Estoy haciendo la tarea. (I am doing homework.)

Spanish:

Entonces fui a almorzar.

No hice nada feliz hoy.

English:

Today was frustrating.  We experienced more confusion and miscommunication.  Most of the day was spent doing homework.  This is the last complete day we have to finish projects.

I woke and got ready as always.  I went to breakfast alone because Emily was still sleeping.  I went to class.  Tim played his guitar for our devotional.  I came back to my room and worked on my paper.  Then I went to lunch.  They served the ugly meat again, so I ate two bowls of soup.

After lunch, I practiced reading Psalms again.  Then Janeil and I went to the library for more information for our project.  My biography project is over Lázaro Cárdenas.  Janeil is writing about Ignacio Zaragoza.  I had to go to several stores to find a copy machine.  The library will not allow you to “check-out” a book, but they will let you carry the book to stores away from the library to make copies.  That is stupid.

I went to dinner, and then returned to my room.  I spent the rest of the day writing my paper.  I did not do anything fun today.
